Jon Pyzel has shaped for John John Florence for most of his career, including the boards under both world title runs. That means the range has been tested on Pipe, at Teahupoo and on the CT, which filters down into boards the rest of us can actually ride. The shapes aren't watered down, but the volume options make them accessible.
Which Pyzel suits you
The Ghost is the all-rounder, a bit of extra foam under the chest for paddling, works from head-high upwards. The Phantom and Radius are more contest-style performance shapes. The Mini Ghost and Gremlin are fuller-nosed grovellers that come alive in the messy waist-to-chest-high surf you'll see most often on the Welsh coast.

Rest Bay in Porthcawl isn't Pipeline, but a Mini Ghost or Gremlin works beautifully here on a clean 3-4ft day. Stock is thin (one or two of each model at most) so if you see the size you need, grab it. Call the shop if you'd like a recommendation based on your height, weight and usual conditions.
