Wetty is a French cold-water surf brand designed in Biarritz, founded by surfers with 40+ years of testing wetsuit and bootie construction in the Atlantic. We stock the full Wetty boots range at Balsa Surf Shop, Porthcawl — the brand's signature product, built around premium Japanese ASAHI neoprene, water-based glues and a Supratex sole coated in natural latex.
Why Wetty boots are different
Most cold-water surf boots prioritise warmth at the cost of board feel. Wetty boots are built around the opposite trade-off: keep your feet warm, but preserve the barefoot connection to the board. The slim Supratex sole, the polar neoprene lining and the anti-water-entry seal mean you can feel the rail, find the sweet spot, and not surf like you're wearing wellies.
3mm, 5mm and 7mm split-toe options
Available in multiple thicknesses for UK conditions: 3mm Wetty boots for milder spring and autumn sessions, 5mm for the autumn-into-winter transition, and 7mm split-toe for proper UK winter — January and February at Rest Bay or Llangennith. Reinforced toe area, durable seams, water-based construction throughout.
