Womens Wetsuits
Womens wetsuits built for UK water, which means 8C in February and maybe 18C if we get a decent August. We stock 3/2, 4/3 and 5/4 thicknesses with chest zip and back zip options, from Billabong, Rhythm, Rip Curl, Xcel and Patagonia. Fit matters more than price, so if you are near Porthcawl, come and try a few on. Sizing advice is free and we are not precious about it.

What thickness do you actually need?
Quick rule for the Welsh coast: 3/2 for July to September, 4/3 for spring and autumn, 5/4 with a hood for December to March when Rest Bay drops to around 8C. If you only want one suit, a 4/3 covers most of the year for most surfers. A 3/2 alone will have you shivering by October.
Brands and fits we stock
Billabong Synergy and Furnace, Rip Curl Dawn Patrol and Flashbomb, Rhythm, Xcel Comp and Infiniti, plus Patagonia yulex suits for anyone avoiding neoprene. Chest zips for warmth and flexibility, back zips for easier entry. Cuts run slightly different between brands, which is why trying them on matters.

Try before you buy, five minutes from Rest Bay
Wetsuit sizing charts are a starting point, not gospel. A suit that looks right on paper can be baggy under the arms or tight across the shoulders, and you only find out once you are paddling. Come into the Porthcawl shop and try a few on properly, we would rather you leave with the right one than post two back next week.
Winter surf in Wales is genuinely doable with the right rubber.
