What's in the skateboards collection
Eleven boards split between complete setups and individual decks. Santa Cruz and Powell-Peralta decks in the 7.75 to 8.5 inch range, mostly 7-ply Canadian maple. Completes come built with Independent or Bullet trucks, Bones or OJ wheels and standard ABEC bearings. Widths around 7.5 to 7.75 suit smaller feet and tighter tricks, 8.0 to 8.25 are the modern all-rounder, 8.5 and up lean towards cruising, transition and bigger riders. Graphics range from classic Powell reissues to newer Santa Cruz prints.
How to choose a skateboard
If it's your first board, a complete setup is cheaper and comes assembled, saving you grip tape hassle. For width, pick by shoe size and intended use. Wider for cruising and ramps, narrower for flatground and flip tricks. Powell-Peralta flight decks are worth a look if you're harder on boards, they take more abuse than standard 7-ply. Bones wheels in 99a to 101a hardness are the default for street, softer 78a to 87a are better for rough pavement and cruising around Porthcawl seafront.
