XCEL Men's 5/4 Wetsuits
Built for Cold Water, Built for Welsh Winter
Winter surfing on the Welsh coast is a different proposition to summer. Water temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius from November through to March, and the air temperature isn't much better. A 5/4mm wetsuit is what makes surfing through that window genuinely manageable. Five millimetres through the core and four through the limbs, with XCEL's thermal lining adding meaningful extra warmth on top of the neoprene thickness.
XCEL's Winter Wetsuit Technology
XCEL's 5/4 suits use Drylock and Infiniti neoprene depending on the model, both of which are designed to retain heat and repel water more effectively than standard neoprene. Glued, blind-stitched, and liquid-taped seams stop cold water flushing through every time you duck-dive or fall off. Thermal chest panels add another layer of insulation where you need it most. The result is a suit that extends your comfortable surfing window deep into winter.
Pair with Boots, Gloves and a Hood
A 5/4 suit handles the bulk of the work in winter, but in the coldest months you'll want to add 5mm surf boots, gloves, and a hood to stay comfortable for a full session. The XCEL wetsuit accessories range has everything you need to complete your cold water kit and keep surfing through to spring.
