XCEL Women's 4/3 Wetsuits
The Autumn and Spring Upgrade
A 4/3mm wetsuit sits between the spring suit and the full winter suit, which makes it genuinely useful for the shoulder seasons when a 3/2 leaves you cold but a 5/4 feels like overkill. In UK waters, that typically means October, November, and March through to early April. Water temperatures in the low teens are manageable in a good 4/3, especially with the quality of XCEL's neoprene and the warmth retention of their thermal linings.
Women's-Specific Construction
XCEL designs the women's 4/3 range around female body proportions, with panel placement and seam positioning that creates a closer fit than you'd get in a unisex suit. That matters in cold water where any flushing means your body temperature drops quickly. The zip entry options, back or chest zip depending on the model, both seal well and are easy to manage solo on a cold beach.
Extend Your Season on the Welsh Coast
A good 4/3 effectively gives you several extra weeks of comfortable surfing on either side of summer. Combined with a pair of 3mm surf boots and gloves when the temperature really bites, you can stay in the water comfortably from late September through to April without needing to go all the way to a winter 5/4.
